After roughly 67 hours of labor, they finally gave SIL the C-section she NEEDED. "Tardy" was born about 5:30 am today, 6 pd, 15 oz and mom, baby and daddy are all okay! He's a gorgeous little guy!!

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers :)

YAY!!! Though I'm sorry she ended up with a section. Sucks to recover from.

Welcome to the world, Tardy. :-)

Congratulations! All the best to the whole family! And for the record, if they'd made me wait that long, I'd have done my own C-section, lol!

Congrats, Auntie!

Glad everything went well in the end, though I gotta admit, I canNOT understand why they waited 67 fraggin' hours until the C-section!

And then I was reminded of the vid Hawk posted the other day about those Dutch guys having contractions simulated on them for two hours, and they were ready to kill themselves by then. 67 hours, dudes! That's what women have to go through!

Thanks so much! I've never herd of them waiting that long, but apparently there were criteria that had to be met first.

Congrats!! I trust Tardy is the nickname and not his real name poor bugger. I think it's cruel they made your SIL wait so long for the C-section though.

Now make sure you take a well-earned rest and get your health back to normal, coz you're important. Hugs

Heehe no, he's a David. I do too--apparently her insurance had very particular criteria before they could do a c section.

Congrats to your family! That is wonderful! Seems a shame they made her go through that many hours, but they now have their wee wonder!

YAY! Congratulations, Auntie!! *much Muppet-flailing, confetti, and pompom waving*

I'm amazed at the sheer amount of time spent in labor (honestly, that seems like cruel and unusual punishment,) but it's wonderful news that little "Tardy" has joined the world and that everyone is healthy! (Poor kid, I suspect, Tardy is going to stick... ha!)

Congrats, sounds like my last pregnancy. Nine days of unproductive labor, two and a half days of inducing and the not so little guy suddenly arrived while they were setting up for a C-section. I've always said if he'd been my first he'd have been an only child.

Love the nickname, he sure earned it. I hope the nurses let them sleep as long as they want. They've both got to tired after all that.

Thanks so much! My mom and stepdad took the baby for about 4 hours while they slept. It was a nice bonding experience for the new grandparents, too, and stepdad is a nurse, so the staff wasn't too worried about him cuddling wit Tardy.

SO glad things are okay. My 4 day labor ended in a C-section as well. It seems like maybe they could make that decision earlier.........

They waited 67 hours before doing a C-Section???? WTF? They are lucky nothing went wrong with mom or baby. Congrats Auntie! Enjoy being an aunt, we Aunts get to SPOIL ROTTEN and then GIVE THEM BACK! LOL.

Yes! They stopped pitocin for an 8 hour period in the middle though.

Thanks so much :)
