But putting into words what Tony meant to him was hard. Damn hard. He wasn’t a word guy anyway. Laying a hand on the back of Tony’s neck and squeezing, or a meaningful look, that was more his speed and style.
Writing wedding vows was something deeply important to Tony, and Gibbs wasn’t gonna rain on his parade, but it wasn’t easy for him. Not at all.
“Just say what you mean,” Tony said, his voice gentle. “I don’t need a lot of words. I never have. They’re from you, Jethro. They’ll mean a lot.”
And as Tony said that, the floodgates opened and Gibbs began writing words from the heart. It wasn’t gonna be poetic, but it would mean something. And maybe that was all Tony needed.
