A couple of days ago, I recieved a LJ private message from ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
gibbsgirlabby informing me that there was a situation over on Fanfiction.net. Some individual had posted one story each from me, tejas, xanthelj, and webbgirl. This individual's profile intimated that *she* was the writer of our stories and expressed some negative commentary about spanking fics and kink fics. The inidvidual called us out and seems to have some sort of personal axe to grind.
Needless to say, this is as far from the truth as can be. Xanthe, tejas, webbgirl, and I have very different writing styles and it is ludicrous (not to mention pathological) for anyone to think fandom readership will believe this individual created these stories a year or more after they were net published.
At least I'm in *excellent* company.
And fandom has been nothing short of amazing! I have over 30 LJ messages, tweets, and emails informing me of this. There are a few LJ posts discussing this, both from the authors involved and wonderful people likedjmicheals, dietpunkfics, and kateri_e, who were outraged on our behalf. This situation could have been fairly negative, but with fandom's response, it has turned it completely on its head. I'm nore inspired and fired up to write than ever!
I've contacted ff.net and hopefully they'll resolve this situation.
I was going to stay quiet about this, following the whole "don't feed the troll" mentality, but the overwhelming response had me running to my keyboard this morning.

As for the different writing styles, it just goes to show you how versatile she is. You're just jealous. Shame on you. *shakes head sadly*
(In other news, I'm THRILLED that this has apparently fed the plotbunnies/inspired the Muses/made you write/steal more stories from her *grins, ducks, runs for cover*)

Although I do post to ff.net, I don't spend much time reading fics on that site, so I never would have known about this had I not read your post.
Let's hope ff.net takes swift action and gets that person's profile off their site PRONTO.
Glad to hear this incident has awakened your muse...hey, maybe you could write one about someone ripping off DeepSix??

Trust me. It's an honor to come to your defense. You wrote the first fanfic I ever read in NCIS. I'm still intimidated to this day by the caliber of authors, like yourself, who write at such a high level that I'm not sure my little fics will measure up.
Don't worry, we've got your six.
And if this has fired you up to write more than ever, well..... Then something great has come out of this shitty situation.
