Vacation

20. jen
Tony and Gibbs have kept their relationship secret, but sometimes they just need to get away. It could be a cabin in the mountains or whatever. They don't go together, they each have separate "public" plans.

There was nothing special about place at all. It as far enough away from the cities that nobody spent much time here, even in the heat of summer. But it was private and quiet and that suited his lover his fine.

Tony pulled into the driveway and killed the engine, looking out at the calm water and small strip of sandy beach on the lake. Gibbs had owned this place a long time, and nobody knew about it except him—and Tony.

They’d been given a mandatory five days off, which, with weekends, amounted to nine days away from work. And Tony and Gibbs had taken quick advantage. Gibbs had left the Navy Yard almost immediately, and when Abby’d asked what his plans were, he’d muttered something about camping.

Tony mentioned going to Jersey—Atlantic City, gambling, poker tournaments, girls girls girls. Though McGee had shot him an envious look, nobody had asked to come along, which was his master plan in action.

Gibbs left first, heading out at oh-dark hundred. Tony’d packed, ate breakfast at the diner, and left three hours after Gibbs. That’d give his lover time to stock the shelves of the small house and air out the place.

Tony had arrived just before noon, making excellent time. His bag was pretty empty—a phone and laptop charger, a couple of DVDs, a few changes of clothes, some magazines and books. They had all the comforts of home here—Gibbs’ home anyway. Electricity, a fridge, Internet, and phone service. They’d be clothing optional in the house, and in trunks when they went swimming. It’d be laid back and allow them to de-stress.

“Hey,” Gibbs said as Tony got out of the car. He looked relaxed in cargo shorts and a tee, the weight of the world off his shoulders, his expression relaxed. “Happy vacation.”

“Happy vacation,” Tony echoed. He had all he needed here.
