May unwritten MEME post--prompts closed!

Well, even though I didn't do a stellar job on April's post, I do tend to fill these, even if they are late, so here's a May post. I have vague hopes that despite a crazy month, I can do some writing. Make sure to track the post to get the updates, as I tend to do these in chunks ;)

I'm keeping all the April entries in their own entry, so shoot me new prompts. I'm taking only 10 this month, max 2 per person.

Tell me a story I haven’t written, and I will give you 1-3 sentences from or about it. Or, knowing me, a few paragraphs, a page, or a promise of a much longer fic Lol!

I'm taking 10 prompts for now. Anything prompted in the previous post is a bonus. This will be a link to the master post. Blue entries are complete. Black still pending :) Prompts are now closed.

A few rules.

I'll write NCIS, CSINY (first 3 seasons only), It Takes a Thief, Chicago Hope, light crossovers with various shows/book series (send me a PM or just prompt and I'll yea or nay ya), original fic.

No rape fic, no child abuse, no promptor insertion fics, no overt abuse by hero character. No sequels to other people's stories. No sneak peeks of commissioned fics. No duplicate or very similar prompts. No characters having sexual and/or romantic bonds with anyone under 18. No RPF/RPS.

Please make sure prompts are simple and easy to meet in a few hundred words. If your prompt is a paragraph or more longer, or has many plot points, it isn't likely to be able to be met in this format.

Het, gen, slash prompts welcome. AU, paranormal welcome. Just please no Tony/Ziva, Stella/Mac, Danny/Lindsay, or Gibbs/Jenny. These aren't pairings I'm able to write. Please no wildly OOC prompts. No pregnancy or MPREG prompts, no crossdressing.

If a prompt isn't working for me and/or blocks me, I reserve the right to ask you for a substitute prompt.

Prompt away!

1. possible hold for gibbsgirlabby

2. tejas Tony/Gibbs Between S5 and S6 - Long distance relationships suck.

3. tejas Tony/Gibbs Pre-series (but after canon first meeting) - First time.

4. sinfulslasher We all know that Senior really is Alexander Mundy. Or had been in his former life. ;) Which is why he still likes to scam people. Or, ya know, is...inventive in his business endeavors. Whatever. He's trying to be a good, upstanding citizen, especially now that he's working on his relationship with his son. But there's still that itch, that one final heist he never managed to accomplish, most notably because it's a two-man job.

Cue Neal Caffrey entering the scene of brilliant con artists. Senior is positive that they're meant to pull off one major heist, finds Caffrey and convinces him to work with Senior on this one job. (The chance of working with the legendary Alexander Mundy is enough to entice Neal, for sure!)

Will they be successful? Will they get caught? What will Tony (and Gibbs and/or Peter) say/do?

5. cin1101 Gibbs needs Tony to show him how deep his love is - fluff/smut, romance, angst... whichever works best for you :)

6. kaylashay81 Once upon a time, there a prince named Anthony who got everything he wanted. But one day, he learned he wanted Gibbs, Captain of the Guard, and the captain didn't give in the way everyone else in his life had. So Anthony set out to learn the way into Gibbs' bed and eventually his heart.

7.sasha1600 Gibbs showing off at a shooting game at the state fair.

8. mundygd More from the story where Tony meets his movie star idol.

9. mundygd More from the story where Tony helps Gibbs and the lady in the car accident. Can you show them meeting again?

10. TBD for djmichaels

Bonus: Oh! I was talking to an non-LJ friend (Rebecca) just a bit ago and she asked me to give you a prompt. If you need to kill one of mine (or delay it til next month) to work this in, that's fine.

Gibbs/Tony Gibbs and Tony find a young man (could be upwards of 30 - your choice) who's being held prisoner somewhere. He's addicted to drugs, but has never been a user before this. The young man is either Senior's son (Tony's half-brother) or Gibbs' son. Tony and Gibbs help him through the aftermath.

Reciprocal bonus for Hawk_soaring, who added a bonus for me last month when I missed her post. Oh-kay... *rubs hands together* *G* ... Sugar Daddy Gibbs and Rent Boy Tony. Gibbs pulls Tony off the streets and "keeps" him. Anyway you want to interpret that. :)

Bonus b-day for [livejournal.com profile] sunsaralyn Fire Inside Gibbs/DiNozzo

You're contradicting yourself in your post, hon. You say you're only taking 10 prompts, but in the next paragraph, you're mentioning 20. ;)

Okay, prompt! I know you said you wouldn't but I'll throw it out there anyway.

We all know that Senior really is Alexander Mundy. Or had been in his former life. ;) Which is why he still likes to scam people. Or, ya know, is...inventive in his business endeavors. Whatever. If you really can't work with this, lemme know and I'll give you another prompt. After sulking and pouting and throwing a tantrum, that is. ;)

I'll give it a try but don't feel hopeful here. I just can't get WC characters' voices in my heads.

White Collar Crossover (doesn't have to be slash)

It doesn't matter that their careers put them at opposite sides of the proverbial fence, Tony and Neal have always been together...even when they weren't.

Can't do White Collar crossovers, sorry. I don't know the show well enough, don't have any inking of the character voices, and I haven't seen all the episodes since Season 1.

I know Gaby posted a WC crossover prompt above, but I've been very clear that I'm very unlikely to be able to meet that prompt. I can't take on any more prompts for shows I don't watch or only very casually watch. Sorry, hon :(

Can you give me another prompt?

Fire Inside b-day for sunsaralyn G/D pt 1

[identity profile] taylorgibbs.livejournal.com 2012-05-11 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Gibbs knew it was best to let Tony come to him, and he knew DiNozzo would tonight. Gibbs had finally dismissed the team at twenty two hundred. They were running on fumes, and he knew that seeing the explosion up close and personal had impacted them, even DiNozzo, as hardened as he was sometimes, was really soft inside. Where it counted.

The steaks were rare, the beans cooking with bourbon, the beer was cold, and Gibbs had made a salad—or his version of it, which was tearing open a bag of lettuce and slapping some dressing on the table. Now all he needed was DiNozzo. He’d quietly warned Abby to keep Ziva and McGee occupied. She could read between the lines—Tony would come to him, and she needed to make sure they stayed away from him. For tonight.

When the case was done, McGee and Ziva could bond with Tony over this, but they had a long way to go before then. And tonight, Gibbs knew where Tony would be.

The front door opened and closed, and Gibbs resisted the urge to look up, pulling the steaks out of the broiler. Tony made his way into the kitchen, rooting around in the fridge, grabbing the beer and knives and forks silently. Once the silence would have worried Gibbs, but now he was used to all of Tony’s moods, the frenetic energy and the pensive nature. He’d wait for Tony to talk it through, no matter how long it took.

“Brought some rice pudding.”

Whatever Gibbs had expected Tony to say, it wasn’t that. He turned away from the stove, arching a brow to DiNozzo. “That so?”

“Yeah. Store bought, but I’m going to fix it.”

Gibbs could feel himself starting to smile. He handed Tony his plate, steak sizzling and baked beans mounded. He jerked his head toward the table. “Eat some green stuff too.”

“Long day.”

The words were simple, but Gibbs could sense the wariness behind them.

“They all are.”

Gibbs finished making his plate and sat down at the table, watching as Tony approached. He was smiling, but it felt a little forced, and Gibbs couldn’t resist the urge to squeeze Tony’s arm. The other man’s smile lightened slightly, but he still looked as if he had the weight of the world on his shoulders.

Fire Inside b-day for sunsaralyn G/D pt 2

[identity profile] taylorgibbs.livejournal.com 2012-05-11 04:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Gibbs stood, taking Tony’s plate and putting it on the table. “C’mere,” he said gruffly, pulling Tony into a tight hug.

“Brought it all back,” Tony explained, sounding a bit exasperated.

“I know,” Gibbs replied, pulling back and staring into Tony’s eyes for a long moment. “Eat. Talk.”

That said, he dropped back into this chair.

Tony was halfway done with his steak before he spoke again. “I know I did the best I could, with the hand I was dealt.”

“Not your fault. The parents shouldn’t have left those kids alone.”

“I know.” Tony closed his eyes and Gibbs watched the emotions ghost over his face, the way Tony’s jaw tightened.

“Hell of a choice to make.”

“It wasn’t a choice,” Tony bust out. “I couldn’t get to her, Gibbs. I couldn’t get to her!” His voice broke on the last word and Gibbs’ whole body tensed. He wanted to comfort DiNozzo, but he couldn’t. Not until he was sure that Tony had gotten everything out that he needed to.

“Hard thing to live with.” He watched as Tony’s eyes opened and Gibbs nodded, unwilling to give more than small reassurances right now. “You were a college kid.”

“So?”

“Hell of a choice for anyone, DiNozzo. Especially a kid. You did the best you could,”

“Jason will never believe that.”

“You don’t think he blames himself, too?”

“I…” Tony trailed off and shrugged.

“Eat. It’ll all be there later.”

Tony nodded and dug in. Gibbs watched him carefully, knowing there was a lot Tony still needed to put to rest. It would happen. In time.

After they finished dinner and washed the dishes, foregoing the rice pudding for now, Gibbs shoed Tony off toward the living room and escaped to the basement, giving Tony some time alone. Gibbs puttered around the basement for fifteen full minutes before coming upstairs.

Tony’d changed into a comfortably worn pair of sweats and an Ohio State T-shirt, and was relaxing on the couch, a Sports Illustrated magazine in hand. But he was distracted—fingers of one hand drumming on his thigh.

Gibbs sank down next to him, cupping a hand comfortingly around the back of Tony’s neck, fingers trailing into DiNozzo’s hair. “You weren’t responsible. Gotta remember that. You saved Jason.”

“But I failed—”

“You were a hero. You saved his life,” Gibbs insisted, keeping his voice quiet. “Remember that, Tony. You’ll never save more if you concentrate on the ones you lost. Proud of you.” Gibbs swallowed hard, past the sudden and unexpected lump in his throat. “Proud of what you did then.” He paused a long moment. “Proud of you now. Keep the fire inside, but don’t let it consume you.”

Tony didn’t reply, but Gibbs could feel him relaxing, slowly but surely. He allowed Gibbs to pull him close, fingers gently massaging Tony’s shoulder and neck. “Thanks, Jethro,” he said finally, snuggling in. “I’m lucky to have you.”

“Not the only lucky one,” Gibbs replied, dropping a gentle kiss onto Tony’s head. “Ready to go to bed.”

“Whatever you want.” The green eyes that stared back at Gibbs’ were pained, but clear. He’d get through this just fine with Gibbs by his side. And Gibbs had no plans to go anywhere.
