This is just lovely. You've captured Tony's insecurity perfectly, as well as Gibbs's difficulty with positive reinforcement. I just loved Gibbs's letter to the Director - that was exactly the kind of gesture that Tony so desperately needed. And I love that Tony carried that photo while he was at sea. I would love to read more of this, so I hope you feel up to continuing it sometime.
