I've noticed a lessening of replies--would it help if I did a weekend catch-up post? I may try that tomorrow and see :) (ETA: Weekend post is added :)

Okay!! All I have left are bonuses, which I'll be doing gradually in their own posts, so I'm opening up a mini August meme. This (and early Sept.) should be my last crazy times--no more trips for several months after my very next trip--thank GOD.

Original fic prompts welcome, but nothing in the Ronan and Steel verse please. I'm trying to settle the arc there and would like to keep this post for "fun" rather than "work" writing :)

Tell me a story I haven’t written, and I will give you 1-3 sentences from or about it. Or, knowing me, a few paragraphs, a page, or a promise of a much longer fic Lol!

A few rules.


I'll write NCIS, It Takes a Thief, Chicago Hope, light crossovers with various shows/book series (send me a PM or just prompt and I'll yea or nay ya).

No rape fic, no child abuse, no promptor insertion fics, no overt physical/emotional abuse by hero character. No sequels to other people's stories. No sneak peeks of commissioned fics. No duplicate or very similar prompts. No characters having sexual and/or romantic bonds with anyone under 18. No RPF/RPS. No obviously OOC characters.

Please make sure prompts are simple and easy to meet in a few hundred words. If your prompt is a paragraph or more longer, or has many plot points, it isn't likely to be able to be met in this format.

Het, gen, slash prompts welcome. AU, paranormal welcome. Just please no Tony/Ziva or Gibbs/Jenny. These aren't pairings I'm able to write. Please no wildly OOC prompts. No pregnancy or MPREG prompts, no crossdressing.

If a prompt isn't working for me and/or blocks me, I reserve the right to ask you for a substitute prompt.

“Why didn’t you wear the glasses?” Tony asked, exasperated.

“Farsighted now,” Gibbs muttered. The reason he’d failed his firearms test had nothing to do with his glasses and everything to do with the fact that his eyes were still healing from the bombing. He’d had some small shards of glass in his eyes—nothing like Abby and McGee, who’d had multiple surgeries. Gibbs had only needed one, and while his eyes were healing, he wouldn’t be a hundred percent for another six weeks or so.

Vance knew and understood, but rules were rules, and they weren’t gonna be bent for Gibbs.

So Gibbs wasn’t field cleared, he’d be riding a desk for a few weeks, until the fuzzy haloes disappeared and his distance sight was sharp again.

Tony took a long gulp of his Dominion Ale and stared on the window. Gibbs didn’t need to say anything else— he knew thatTony knew and understood. And realized why Vance couldn’t break the rules, not even for the legendary Gibbs. As someone had called him in the wake of the bombing.

Hell, if he’d been the legend some people claimed, people wouldn’t have left NCIS in body bags. Gibbs shuddered, the memory of the bags lined up, his friends, some burned and crushed almost beyond recognition.

The smells…

“Hey, come back to me.”

DiNozzo had escaped it, had been in an elevator with Ziva. By the time they’d gotten them out two hours later, McGee and Abbs had been sent to Bethesda, Fornell had been in charge of the investigation and Gibbs…

He gulped hard, staring out the window, at the damn streetlights haloing. Maybe he wasn’t ready to be back in the field. Maybe…

“I’m back,” he told DiNozzo. “And you’re gonna lead this time just fine for now. When I’m back on my feet—”

“No retiring,” Tony put in, cutting Gibbs off.

“No retiring,” he promised. “When I requalify—and I’m gonna—I’m taking our team back. Until then, you’ll do. You’ll more than do.” Gibbs squeezed the back of Tony’s neck, sighing happily as his lover rested against him.

“There are worse things than desk work when I have you to come home to.”

And truer words were never spoken.

18. chelletoo Tony/Gibbs - Tony is a hit man

Gibbs watched the man as he moved though the club, clearly tracking his prey. DiNozzo was one of the best out there, and Gibbs was gonna stop him.

The biggest mistake he’d made was setting his sights on Abby. DiNozzo had been tracing her for days now, and had slipped into her favorite club without eye an eye twitch from the bouncer. Gibbs was gonna have to talk to them about that.

As Abby danced and shimmied on the dance floor, Gibbs was careful to stay in the shadows He didn’t want to startle Abby—if DiNozzo was spooked, he might take Abby down.

Over Gibbs’ dead body.

DiNozzo was dressed in jeans and a leather jacket, and he looked a little dangerous—wild and untamed. Gibbs was gonna love hearing the sound of that leather creaking and protesting as Gibbs cuffed the dirtbag, knee in DiNozzo’s back.

He would get his man. He always got his man.

His eyes flickered to the side as DiNozzo sauntered toward the bathroom. This might be the best chance Gibbs would get. He followed, moving silently—not that it mattered with the thumping bass beat—but once a sniper, always a sniper.

He waited until DiNozzo went inside the bathroom and followed, waiting until DiNozzo was unzipped and out, but just before he started to go. The room was thankfully empty, and Gibbs didn’t want to wait any longer.

In a practiced move, he spun DiNozzo, pressing him against the wall, kicking his legs out wide.

“I win,” he growled in Tony’s ear, feeling the other man shiver.

“Next time you be the hit man,” Tony said, his voice muffled. “I’m getting hard here, Jethro. Can we go home?”

“Yep. My choice what we do, since I won.”

“Do I look like I’m complaining?”

Gibbs slid his eyes up and down Tony’s body, snickering. “Nope, you look damn good to me. Now let’s go home.”

“On it, Boss.”

Going completely AU here.

11/01

Gibbs hated doing these meetings, but the president had insisted, SecNav had confirmed, and Gibbs and Morrow were stuck here. There had been a plane crash in New York City and some initial reports had thought it might be related to the terror attacks.

It’d been a mess, and had occurred on Veteran’s Day weekend, which had made things worse. So he was at a meeting with SecNav, some FBI drones. a couple of ATF guys, some suits that had to be Secret Service but hadn’t been announced.

When Fornell walked in with a thick folder, Gibbs sat up a little taller. Tobias was newly divorced from Diane, and they’d run into each other a couple times. A guy followed him—tall, green eyes, brown hair. His suit looked much more expensive than Tobias’ and he seemed as if he might be new to the FBI, though he had the look of a cop, streetwise and a bit cocky. Both men stopped in front of him.

“Fornell,” Gibbs drawled, angling his head. Why so many FBI agents for this one.

“Anthony DiNozzo,” the man put in before Fornell could reply. “You’re Gibbs.”

It wasn’t a comment—it was a statement, a declaration. Gibbs nodded.

“Need to talk with you, Jethro,” Fornell said, his voice tense. He tapped the file and Gibbs nodded, coming to his feet. He didn’t excuse himself—the conversation was going on around him—discussions about terrorism drills, the possibility of a Middle East war.

Gibbs followed Fornell and the other guy out, watching the way the other guy moved. He was tall, broad, Gibbs had the sense the man was very athletic.

Gibbs put his hand out for the folder and Tobias handed it to him. “My people want to work with your people. DiNozzo will be my point man. Play nicely, Jethro.”

“When don’t I?” Gibbs asked, giving Fornell a bright smile. When he turned that expression on DiNozzo, heat flared deep in the other man’s eyes and Gibbs swallowed back his desire.

Fornell opened his mouth to answer, but DiNozzo replied first. “I think we’re going to get along fine.”

His voice sent a shaft of desire into Gibbs’ gut. He sure as hell hadn’t expected this complication.
